New to Eurorack: Any Tips for Getting Started?

Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to the world of Eurorack and am diving into the deep end with some gear. I have been reading up on the basics but I want to hear from folks with experience. What’s the best advice for someone just starting out?

Also I am trying to figure out how to approach building my first rack in terms of which modules to prioritize and how to make sense of the signal flow. I have seen people talk about a few key modules that are must-haves but I am not sure which ones would be the most versatile for a beginner. Also, any tips on patching or general workflow would be awesome.

I completed an AWS Devops Course to get a better understanding of automation and infrastructure & now I want to apply that same problem-solving approach to my Eurorack setup.

Also i have check this Getting Started with C++ Tips still need stips. I appreciate any advice on how to avoid common pitfalls and really get the most out of the setup as I build it.

Thank you…

Welcome!

Are you interested in building a custom Eurorack module or getting started with your rack with commercial modules? Let me know, thanks!

As for commercial modules, I started out with a Make Noise 0-coast. It has MIDI, and it’s set up like a micro modular system. Another option would be the Moog Mother 32.

As for coding the Daisy, that’s a whole different thing. I’ve had my Daisy Patch in a 4ms Pod case (20hp), which turns it into an almost-standalone synthesizer (MIDI in, Audio out). That would only make sense if your aim is to get into Eurorack later though, otherwise the pedal formfactor is a better alternative I suppose.
