Issue powering Daisy Seed with 9v battery

Hello!

I’ve run into an issue when powering the daisy seed with a 9v battery. Around 30 seconds or so after powering up the daisy, an interference sound starts to creep in. It starts mild and then slowly ramps up until it completely takes over the output. it goes away instantly when i switch to 9v DC wall power, but if i just reset the daisy with the battery, the sound still persists even after rebooting.

here’s an audio sample: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zTR4Ej6JM9XAeIMxsEBW4FP1TUd35Z-g/view?usp=drive_link

I am using plug data to compile and flash pure data patches to the daisy. This has happened to me with multiple different patches. I’ve also tried adding a 5v regulator (i thought maybe the battery voltage was not steady enough for the daisy somehow), but that did not help.

It seems this person was having the exact same problem:

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Daisy uses more current than a 9V battery can sustain.
