Giving up

Hi,

It’s been 2 years I bought Daisy patch and learn pure data.

But no matter what there was no way I had any patch work in daisy patch. Lots of messages later and no hint of how to solve this I stopped waiting for further update (I remember Pure Data was not ideal and there was an issue with pd2dsy)

Now I have this module sitting in a box and much frustration and hours wasted later I want to sell it for anyone who can make it work.
I just want to reset it fully. So I’m back to the tutorial video (with a Wiki follow along link that is not working anymore) and it retrigers PTSD.

PLEASE ! would anyone give me a simple HOW TO reset clean this thing and make sure it’s “working” as default so I can sell it ?
Right now I went on https://flash.daisy.audio/ and flashed the daisy. Put the module back in the rack :

Reset is red, other led is blinking, screen is dead black. Is that “normal” ?
If I use pd2dsy with blink.pd / .json in “Custom” I get :

Pd translation error:
[Errno 13] Permission denied: ‘C:\Users\pd2dsyGUI\data\util\daisy.json’

Thanks

Have you tried plugdata at all?

Too bad you did not have a good experience and are giving up.

On https://flash.daisy.audio/ did you select an example for the patch or only uploaded the blink program?

Welcome back!

I’m really sorry that you had a bad experience trying to get pd2dsy working last time and that I was not able to successfully troubleshoot.

From our previous conversation ( Daisy patch start ), it sounds like you were able to get things working with the Web Programmer (which moved to https://flash.daisy.audio/ since we last talked).

So if you can get one of the Patch examples from the Web Programmer to work, you can feel assured that your Daisy Patch is working before selling it.
Could you please confirm with us that in the Web Programmer, you can:

  • Go to the “Select an Example” section
  • Select “patch” in the “Select a platform” drop-down
  • Select “vco” in the “And an example” drop-down
  • FLASH
  • And check that you can hear the oscillator and control its pitch.

If you need a refresher, please reference “Getting Started” in the Web Programmer.

It might also be worth revisiting plugdata one last time. That’s what I recommend using rather than pd2dsy.
I recommend watching this tutorial by dreamer in this thread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKohpWGTKsQ

Happy to revisit troubleshooting with you
