I will be assembling the first prototype of my Patch-derived module next week, assuming that all of the parts arrive as scheduled. But I’m already thinking about rev two.
In particular, I’m thinking about using an alternative display module. I’m using the same 1.54" OLED module used in the Patch. The panel itself is fine, but the carrier board is a bit bulky and prevents placing other front panel components (like buttons) very close to the display.
Does anyone have any tips and/or tricks for using bare OLED panels? I think adding the necessary support circuitry should be straightforward. What puzzles me is stuff like how to position and mount the panel.
I’ve looked for a tutorial on this subject but haven’t found anything useful so far. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
