just looking for tips.. made this with a 7805 and it gets too warm without a sink i am switching it for this (or similar SMPS).. everything works great and i am happy other than the temperature so i was just looking for advice in the power section. is this overkill? are people powering directly to Vin with 9V? I have read a couple horror stories but i have also seen inside some other more professional seed builds (see recovery effects XCV) that look like they have a lot less going on. i based this design on the PedalPCB Terrarium but wondering if there is a better/simpler way of going about this or are these pedals i am seeing just accomplishing the same thing with smaller SMD components? its entirely likely i am overthinking this and if that is the case can you calmly talk me down?! <3
Terrarium and Hothouse both power the seed with 9V, and use the 5V linear regulator for the op amps.
