ST Link noise

I just received my ST Link V3 mini (the one recommended for the daisy seed) from digi key. When using it I get tons of noise and clicks. I don’t have this issue when connected to USB. If it makes a difference I’m using a quality 9v adapter with the hothouse kit. As is I’ll continue iterating with usb uploads and only use the debugger when I need to. Anyone else experience this?

I just tried it with my Hothouse and STLINK V3MINI, I didn’t hear any noises (guitar->HOTHOUSE->guitaramp, Hothouse powered by a rechargeable 9v power supply)

There must be more details. Was the code actually running under the debugger?

I think so I’ll try both ways. I wonder if it’s a grounding thing since you are using battery for the 9volt source. I’ll try and find an adapter and battery as well.

I could understand a debugger causing trouble for time-sensitive code, such as the audio callback.

I don’t use the debugger, I use STLINK for fast, convenient code upload with no button pushing.

I tried with and without debugging and it sounded the same. I also tried with a 9volt battery and still heard a noise maybe slightly less. I also noticed when I scrolled my bluetooth mouse it changed the pitch of the noise. Must be something with the STLINK and or my computer. It’s a MacBook Pro.

Hmmm. I was using MacBook Air M1, running on its battery.
