I don’t have my computer and I’m trying to get the web programmer working. I’m using another persons Mac and I have home brew and dfu util installed successfully.
It’s one of those usb c macs so I have to use a usb hub.
The web programmer sees the hub, but it doesn’t see daisy in dfu mode.
I’ve used it successfully on my other Mac and windows many times with no hub so I feel like it might be the hub somehow?
Easy solution. Some devices use usb cables for only power and dont have data connected. I used a different cable and all is well.
Having this issue right now with one of my dongles, and it’s not the cable. I’m on a 2019 MBP running 10.14.6 (Mojave). Just got my Petal the other day and tried to program using my USB-C dongle (Brand is QGeem). First USB cable wouldn’t work, so tried another and it did work. Probably flashed it 5 or 6 times before it stopped working. Tried 3 other cables, and couldn’t get any to work.
My solution which has been solid now for 20+ flashes is:
Different USB-C dongle → HDMI cable → Computer monitor → USB-A → Seed
The computer monitor USB port is a ‘SuperSpeed’ port so it’s not 2.0. Not sure what the ultimate reason for failure was. Just ordered a JTAG programmer so I wonder if it will have similar issues.
