Simple Audio Input Question

This is probably one of the more simple questions on here, but I figured it was worth asking instead of just hooking things up to my daisy and potentially breaking things.
I was curious if I need to have any external circuit of my own before I send the voltage from the jack to the audio ins or if I can just send it in there?
I know that the inputs max out at like -1.5/1.5 volts which isn’t a big deal if using consumer stuff (I’ll probably add a zener protection circuit eventually though) but for now I was curious if I could just hook into it from my iPhone, for example, and not have anything blow up LOL.
Thanks all! You’ve been very helpful so far.

Yes, that’s the type of level, ‘line’ that it’s designed for.

It’s in the datasheet:
Audio inputs are AC coupled and 3.6Vpp, or approx. 1Vrms.
