Midi Out

Is it easy, somehow, to add a Midi-out connection?

I would be interested in making a sequencer using daisy as platform and wondered if this is possible.
Could someone roughly discuss how difficult would it be / what would involve?

Thanks in advance.

The Daisy Patch, and Daisy Field have a reference circuit for this, here is a link to the patch schematic.

The MIDI output circuit is up in the top right of page one, and you’ll notice it is really simple (only two resistors)!
This is for TRS MIDI, but the same circuit would apply to 5-pin DIN, just to the corresponding pins.

Hardware MIDI essentially creates a current loop between the two devices, which is why you’ll see optocouplers, etc. involved on the input side, but the output can remain pretty simple.

Hey @shensley, the reference page seems to be dead, I’m really interested about making the TRS output midi circuit for my seed and a custom PCB. Does this page maybe still exist but with another URL ?

@tele_player thank you, and by the way I think I remember your name from the axoloti forum, that’s nice to see you again somewhere in the community
