Greetings!
In the example with the LCD module based on HD44780, I want to use the Winstar WEH001602A OLED display. Externally, the displays look the same, but as a beginner, I am afraid to connect my display according. Can someone explain or provide a working wiring circuit diagram for this display?
I tried connecting the WEH001602A OLED display using the diagram suggested to me by the artificial intelligence:
Pin 1 (VSS) → GND
Pin 2 (VDD) → +5V
Pin 3 (VO) → NC
Pin 4 (RS) → Daisy Pin 15
Pin 5 (R/W) → GND (write only)
Pin 6 (E) → Daisy Pin 16
Pin 7 (DB0) → NC
Pin 8 (DB1) → NC
Pin 9 (DB2) → NC
Pin 10 (DB3) → NC
Pin 11 (DB4) → Daisy Pin 20
Pin 12 (DB5) → Daisy Pin 19
Pin 13 (DB6) → Daisy Pin 18
Pin 14 (DB7) → Daisy Pin 17
Pin 15 (A) → NC
Pin 16 (K) → NC
Having stated that it should work, since the WS0010 and HD44780 controllers are supposedly compatible.
I assembled and loaded the LCD_HD44780 sample into the controller. I powered it with 5 volts via USB. The LED on the Daisy Seed board is lit, but the monitor shows no signs of life. I’m new to this and don’t know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello!
Are you using the lcd_hd44780 example code for the WEH001602A?
Hello! Yes, I’m using example for lcd_hd44780.
However, I figured out why the display is not working. According to the datasheet for WEH001602ALPP5N00001, the supply voltage is 5 volts and the voltage of the logical 1 must be at least 0.9 of the supply voltage, i.e. 4.5 volts.
Apparently, I will have to use the Winstar three-volt OLED display, or use the TXB0106 or a similar IC for the levels shifting.
