A lot of my gen~ patches use buffers in max/msp, is it possible for oopsy to read/write to a buffer on the daisy patch?

You can use [data] in place of [buffer]
External [buffer] objects are not supported YET
Yep – use [data]. There’s a plan for reading audio files documented in the ticket below, which will come once SDcard support stabilizes.
