When i got my Seed and Pod I loved the immediacy, but I didn’t love using 3.5mm jacks and single ended noisy runs to my mixer.
So I started on the Daisy Studio.
It’s still not production ready, there’s a long list of issues with Rev2b, regardless, with some rework I got it up and running today and I’m really happy with it.
It wouldnt be cheap to do a short run of them, definitely no cheaper than $120, thats what i get for using Neutrik connectors and Bourns pots, but i wouldnt have it any other way. Thing is, I’m happy to just stop here for now and enjoy the unit I have. However if there’s interest enough, I’d also really enjoy fixing up the last remaining issues (at least the Rev2c stuff) and then getting a short PCB fab and assembly run done. Let me know what you all think!
Goals:
- Balanced in/out with decent combo jacks
- 5 Pin midio trio.
- Low THD. got it down to 0.004% which I think is about the best i can hopefor
- Ability to handle hot studio signals up past 24db with protection for the seed
- Drive a reasonable studio signal on the outputs.
- Clip indicators to simplify gain staging - clip light comes on at about -3dbfs of the seed.
- Access to all the GPIO and Power
- Clean power driven by a wall wart.
- Fit well in a Keybed, Desktop Module or Rack module.
